Chunxi Commercial Street

Chunxi Street was built by the warlord Yang Sen in 1924. At the beginning, it was named Senwei Street since Yang Sen was called General Sen Wei. Later, it was renamed to its current name.

Chunxi Street was rebuilt from May, 2001 to February, 2002. Afterwards, famous Chengdu snack bars, Mc Donald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, café shops, tea houses and shopping malls rushed to settle down on this street. Since then, it has become a famous commercial street in Chengdu.

At the northern entrance, visitors can see a long bas-relief carved on a granite wall. It depicts eight wonders of Chengdu of the Tang Dynasty, including temple fair, flower show, lantern fair, picking mulberry leaf, hibiscus flower, rinsing and weaving brocade, and brewing wine.
