Yading Scenic Area in Daocheng

Located in the southeast of Daocheng County, this scenic area is famous for the three holy mountains and three holy lakes. Three holy mountains refer to Mt. Chenrezig, Mt. Jambeyang and Mt. Chanadorje. Mt. Chenrezig is the tallest mountain in Daocheng and regarded as the incarnation of Avalokitesvara in Buddhism. Three holy lakes are Milk Lake, Pearl Lake and Five-color Lake. Among the three lakes, Milk Lake is the most well-known. There is a white circle around the lake. Therefore, it gains its name.
