Yangzhou Fried Rice is a popular Chinese wok-fried rice dish available in many Chinese restaurants in China. Despite its name, Yangzhou Fried Rice did not originate in Yangzhou. The recipe was invented during the Sui Dynasty. It was introduced to Yangzhou when Emperor Suiyang of the Sui Dynasty inspected Jiangdu (Today’s Yangzhou). After hundreds of years, it has developed into a well-known Huaiyang-style dish.
