As one of the oldest Chinese operas, Qinqiang Opera originated from Qishan and Fengxiang Counties, Baoji City of Shaanxi Province. Nowadays, it is popular in Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang.
Like Peking Opera, Qinqiqang Opera also features its unique facial make-up. To some extent, it has great impact on the formation and development of Peking Opera facial make-up.
In 2006, this unique art form was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
