The Sacred Way, with a total length of about 7.3 kilometers (4.5 miles), is one of the best-preserved parts of Ming Tombs. It's said to be a divine way to lead the emperor into the heaven. You could see many statues on two sides of the road, including those of auspicious animals, ministers, generals, etc. There is also a Shengong Shengde Stele Pavilion, in red, on the Sacred Way. A stele on the back of stone turtle is placed in the pavilion, with fine carvings and calligraphy on.
