Located near the Drum Tower on the Huajue Lane of Xian, Shaanxi Province, the Great Mosque is one of the oldest and most renowned mosques in China. First built in 742 during the Tang Dynasty, the mosque had been restored during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Today, it is still used by Chinese Muslims as a place of worship, and remains a popular tourist attraction in Xian.
