Zou Xi Kou is a representative northern Shaanxi folk song. In ancient times, people living in northern Shaanxi Province left their homes to do business or odd jobs in Mongolia to earn money. This is called Zou Xi Kou. Before their men leave, the wives tell their husbands to take care of themselves outside by singing folk songs. When their men set off, the wives sing songs to express their love to their husbands. These songs are all about Zou Xi Kou. Today, modern people in northern Shaanxi still sing these songs.
