Located to the northwest of the Forbidden City, Beihai Park was an imperial garden when it was built. In 1925, it was opened to the public as a park. It has several must-see attractions including the Quiet Heart (Jingxin) Studio, the Nine-Dragon Screen, the Five Dragon Pavilions and the Circular City.
Covering an area of about 0.71 sq km (about 0.27 sq miles), Beihai Park is an undeniable masterpiece of Chinese classic gardens.
