Legend has it that Jinli Street was one of the most commercialized streets during the Shu State (221 - 263 AD). It used to be a street where people weaved and sold brocade (‘Jin’ in Chinese).
Today, Jinli Street is rebuilt to the east of the Martial Marquis Memorial Temple. With a total length of around 550 meters (601 yards), it is swarmed with many local snack stalls, bars, guesthouses and craftwork shops. No wonder it has become a famous commercial pedestrian street in Chengdu.
