Beijing Bell and Drum Towers lie to the north of Dianmenwai Avenue. The Bell Tower has a 7.02 meters (23 feet) high bell, which is the largest and heaviest bell in China. The Drum Tower has one large drum and twenty-four small drums in all. The large drum represents a year while 24 small ones are the symbols of the 24 Solar Terms.
