The Lu’s Residence is the largest remaining salt merchant’s residence in Yangzhou. It was originally built by Lu Shaoxu, a famous salt merchant of the Qing Dynasty. The construction started in 1894 and was finished after three years. In 1981, it burned down in a large fire.
The residence was restored in 2005 and reopened in 2006. After restoration, some halls in the residence were converted into restaurants. Now, visitors can enjoy Yangzhou dishes while visiting Lu’s Residence.
