Wuxi Ancient Kiln Cluster Museum

The Wuxi Ancient Kiln Cluster Museum is located on Dayao Road. The first floor is an exhibition hall. It introduces visitors to the history of Wuxi bricks and tiles. A large sand table depicts the ancient streets near the Qingming Bridge. Around the sand tables Wuxi bricks and titles including wall bricks, tomb bricks and square bricks are displayed. On the second floor are imitations of ancient bricks and titles and also some of the molds used in the modern brick-making machines.

The museum has a unique treasure, namely, ‘two special tiles’ used as projecting tiles on the eaves of ancient buildings. It is rare to see such big projecting tiles on eaves today.

The Wuxi Ancient Kiln Cluster Museum is the first museum in China dedicated to the history of bricks and tiles.
