Clay figurines are the most renowned folk craft in Wuxi. Since most of the clay figurines are made on the Huishan Ancient Street, Wuxi clay figurines are also called Huishan clay figurines. In 2008, Huishan clay figurines were included on the list of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage. The China Academy of Clay Figurines gathers many works made by well-known clay figurine sculptors. One of the most well-known works is “A micro-panorama of the Grand Canal” with a length of nearly 180 meters (591 feet) long.
