With a range of around 7 kilometers long beach and abundant submarine resources, Yalong Bay is famed as “No.1 Bay under heaven”. The seawater is clean and blue here. Thanks to the high visibility of the seawater, it is definitely a good place to dive. Besides, swimmers can swim here all year round because the seawater temperature is very pleasant, from 22°C (71.6℉) to 25°C (77℉) all through the year.

Located between Mt.Tuweiling and Mt. Luhuitou, it’s a natural half-moon shaped shallow water bay, which is famed for its warm water, white sands and flat beach.

Inside the scenic area are two well-known stones inscribed with Tian Ya and Hai Jiao separately. It is said that Tian Ya was written by Cheng Zhe who was the local governor of the Hainan Island during the reign of the Emperor Yong Zheng of the Qing Dynasty (1636 – 1912). Hai Jiao was inscribed by Wang Yi in 1938. He was the commander of the local troops stationed on the island. There is another famous stone inscribed with Hai Pan Nan Tian. These four characters were said to be inscribed by three mapping officials during the reign of Emperor Kang Xi. Emperor Kang Xi once ordered to map out the territory of the Qing Dynasty. The mapping officials found out that Tian Ya Hai Jiao was the southernmost point. Therefore, they marked the southernmost point by erecting a huge stone there with an inscription of four Chinese characters Hai Pan Nan Tian.
