Inside the scenic area are two well-known stones inscribed with Tian Ya and Hai Jiao separately. It is said that Tian Ya was written by Cheng Zhe who was the local governor of the Hainan Island during the reign of the Emperor Yong Zheng of the Qing Dynasty (1636 – 1912). Hai Jiao was inscribed by Wang Yi in 1938. He was the commander of the local troops stationed on the island.

There is another famous stone inscribed with Hai Pan Nan Tian. These four characters were said to be inscribed by three mapping officials during the reign of Emperor Kang Xi. Emperor Kang Xi once ordered to map out the territory of the Qing Dynasty. The mapping officials found out that Tian Ya Hai Jiao was the southernmost point. Therefore, they marked the southernmost point by erecting a huge stone there with an inscription of four Chinese characters Hai Pan Nan Tian.
