Namtso Lake means 'heavenly lake' in Tibetan and is the second largest saltwater lake in China. It is also the highest saltwater lake in the world. Buddhists consider this scenic body of water to be a holy spot. Many Buddhist pilgrims walk clockwise around the lake in anticipation of receiving blessings.
