Buddha Unfolding Festival is one of the most famous festivals in Tibet. It is held from the 14th to the 16th day of the fifth Tibetan month at the 500-year old Tashilhunpo Monastery. Giant Thangkas (paintings) are displayed on the monastery walls and Buddhists worship there in the hope of receiving blessings.
