The Colored Glaze Factory Culture Street is located south of the Peace Gate in Xuanwu District of Beijing. During the Ming Dynasty, a colored glaze factory was built here, which made glazed tiles for the imperial palaces. In the Qing Dynasty, many businessmen and vendors came here and started to sell antiques, books, paintings, artifacts and the four treasures of the study (brush, ink, paper, and ink stone).
In 1982, this street was restored. Shops and houses of gray titles in the traditional style were rebuilt. Here one can still find curios, paintings, artifacts, writing brush, ink stick, ink slab and so on.
