Formally opened to the public in 1962, the Reed Flute Cave is one of the most famous attractions in Guilin City. Giant reeds grow at the mouth of the cave. The giant reeds can be made into flutes, hence its name. The Reed Flute Cave is about 240 meters (0.15 mile) long with various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations inside. The scenery inside the cave is really spectacular. Entering the cave, one feels as if they are in Paradise.
