The Hall of Union and Peace (Jiaotaidian) of Forbidden City gains its name from the Book of Changes. Jiaotai means the union of heaven and earth, and peace and harmony of China in Chinese. It is the place where the queen holds celebrations, receives worship and gifts from concubines, princesses and other court ladies on her birthday.
