Lujiazui is an important financial district in Shanghai. It is located in the Pudong New District, facing the Bund across the Huangpu River.
Lujiazui financial district covers an area of 28 square kilometers (10.81 square miles). It is the first state-level finance and trade zone approved by the State Council in 1990. Today, many foreign-capital financial institutions, such as HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and Bank of East Asiahave have set up their offices in Lujiazui.
There are also some popular tourist attractions and other important financial institutions such as Oriental Pearl Tower, Jinmao Tower, Bank of China Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center in this area.
