Huangpu River is the largest river in Shanghai. It is approximately 113 kilometers (71 miles) long and 400 meters (1/4 mile) )wide. Also called Huangxiepu and Chunshen River, it divides the city into two regions, Pudong and Puxi.
Huangpu River is the mother river of Shanghai because Shanghai people get their drinking water from it. Along the river, there are many famous tourist attractions, such as the Bund. Cruises are available on the river. They start from the Bund and go upstream, a great way to take a cruise to see the landscape along the river.
The Bund is a renowned tourist destination in Shanghai. Tourists can not only have a panoramic view of the scenery of the Pudong Area and Huangpu River but also appreciate various building of different architectural styles at the west side.
