Dazhao Temple is the oldest and the largest temple in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. Locally, people usually refer to it as the Silver Buddha Temple for it houses a rare silver statue of Sakyamuni that measures 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) high. Along with the silver statue, the carved dragons on huge golden pillars and the bright murals are regarded as three marvelous treasures in the temple.
