The Barkhor Street in the old town of Lhasa is a noted pilgrimage path and business center in Tibet. As it circles the holy Jokhang Temple, the Tibetans call it a holy road. There are hostels and restaurants on Barkhor Street, providing accommodation for pilgrims and merchants. Makye Ame Pub there is a must-see attraction for it used to be a secret palace for Tsangyang Gyatso, the 6th Dalai Lama.
