Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi Province is one of the three major cave clusters in China. Built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, the caves are over 1,500 years old. Its masterly workmanship reflected by the massive pagodas and Great Buddha sculpture has earned this site a place on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
