Peking Roast Duck is a famous local dish in Beijing. Legend has it that roast duck was invented during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang who founded the Mingy Dynasty was fond of duck very much. Therefore, his chefs invented roast duck to please the emperor.
