Torch Festival is a very important festival celebrated among some ethnic minorities in southwestern China like Yi, Bai, Hani, Lisu and Naxi. The festival usually falls in early June according to Chinese lunar calendar (in July on the Gregorian calendar).
During the festival, people will light up torches when night falls to repel insects and expel evils. Also, young men and women sing and dance around the big torches.
This dancing performance is about the Torch Festival. Enjoy the show and the music.
