Farewell My Concubine

When Xiangyu was defeated by Liu Bang who became the founder of the Han Dynasty, his army and him were trapped at Gai xia (垓下), a place in Lingbi county of Anhui Province. He broke through Liu's army after Yu committed suicide with his sword. Unfortunately, he was surrounded beside the Wu River later. This time he didn't escape but cut his own throat.

The opera shows Xiangyu farewelled to his concubine Yu when he was trapped by Liubang.
