Xuanyuan Temple, also called the Temple of Yellow Emperor, is part of the Huangdi Mausoleum. The temple was first built in the Han Dynasty (206BC - 220). Covering an area of 9.3 hectares, the main buildings on the middle axis from south to north are Temple Gate, Whole-heartedness Pavilion, Steles Pavilion and Hall to the Founder of the Human Civilization. There are 14 ancient cypresses in the temple, of which the cypress planted by the Yellow Emperor and Hanging Armour Cypress are the most famous.
